Cut my losses to save face
So...I haven't written in here since before Christmas. Christmas was cool, good fun. And I got some lovely presents:
- from mum and dad: Shrek 1 & 2 and a Jack Johnson album
- from Stef: The Shawshank Redemption 3 Disc Special Edition DVD (my favourite film EVER!), another Jack Johnson album (On and On) and Banoffee milkshake powder- can't wait to start it!
- from Martin: The White Stripes live DVD (the Blackpool one)
- from Tracey and Duncan: the Nightmare Before Christmas DVD and a hot chocolate pot thing (have a look at this for more details!)
- from Steve and Sheila: Madness perfume
- from Nick: A beautiful cross necklace
- from John: A cupcake!
- from John and Joyce (my Godparents): Avon shimmering body powder
- from Liz (my supervisor at work): Irish Cream Truffles
- from Anna: scented soap confetti, a wash bag and an Archers set
- from Dave (who said I looked lovely on Christmas day!): a James Hetfield notebook
- from Lizzy: a Jimmy Eat World CD and a selection box
- from Aunt Yvonne and Uncle Rog: a radio controlled mini
- Steve and Lorraine: a Spongebob calender and a Spongebob TuxedoPants!
- from Charlie: the Nightmare before Christmas mug and a Jack Johnson CD
I think that's everything!
Today............
I feel terrible. I've spent so much of today crying my eyes are probably going to be sore for the next week or so! I feel so lousy.
Stef was supposed to be here this weekend but because of the weather he can't get here which means....I'm lonely and will be tomorrow (new years eve, of course). I had more to say but I can't think of it now I'm here so I'll leave it. I may add more if I remember. I'm not really in the mood to type much though anyway.

"I could tell he wasn't a cat because of the rusksack."
I had quite a cool day today.
We finished work at one (well, we closed at one...the champagne corks were popping at about quarter to!) and then I went home, had a Nutri-grain bar and then went into town with dad.
While we were in town (I had to get some smoothies- I think I have a cold coming on. More about those in a minute! And also a present for my Godparents [who are great and deserve lots!]) we saw Dave and Lizzy, who said they were going bowling at half 3 and asked if we wanted to join them. We said we didn't think we'd be done on time but arranged to meet them there if we were. We went to Boots (for said smoothies and for dad to get mum some things for her stocking, then to Thorntons (for said present), then to Colemans (for dad to get mum some more stocking fillers) and then we had a quick look in Penco and then I rang Lizzy and she didn't answer so we went to the bowling alley to see if they were there and on the way she called back and said they were outside the bowling alley, so we joined them and then Anna and Iain came after a few minutes.
We had a good game- Lizzy and Iain's scores were stupidly high (can't remember exactly but I think Iain's was 135 and Lizzy's was slightly higher.) The rest of us were average- Dave's would have been better but he was practising his spinning! Anyway, while we were there Anna asked me if I want to go with her and Tracey for a meal tonight, so we went to The Fox and Hound pub for a meal which was soooooooooooooooo delicious!! I'm going to have to take Stef there one day! It was a really good price and the portions were great! Fantabulous!
So...these smoothies...
Innocent Smoothies
Not only do these smoothies taste amazing, they are sooo good for you!
Around this time last year, while I was at work I had a cold and was feeling soooooooo groggy and generally just bleurgh so at lunch I went to Boots and bought a Smoothie and I am not joking, the next day my cold had COMPLETLEY gone!! The smoothies have ridiculously high amounts of vitamin C in them (the one I'm drinking now- Blackberries and blueberries- has over 110% of the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) of the stuff!! Normally, of course, if you have too much Vitamin C your body just gets rid of it but when you have a cold you need more so...these are great!! Little bottles of miracles! And delicious too. Plus the blurb on the bottle is funny. And so is their website. 10/10 for Innocent!

"We're clever but we're clueless"
Why is it that people see someone totally different when they're in love?? Actually, more often than not, when they think they're in love.
I read somewhere once that when you love someone you still see the imperfections but you see past them and love them. I agree with that. However, it doesn't mean that someone can treat you like crap or as their slave or whatever and you let them off with it and even worse, ignore the fact that they do it to begin with!
It seems to me that everyone is doing it at the moment (or in the recent past). I don't get it. If my boyfriend has had faults, I have always known about them and I haven't acted as if they don't exist.
That's the sign of a mature relationship, one in which you don't need to kid yourself that the other person is perfect because you don't have to worry about the flaws, you know that it doesn't affect how you feel about that person at all. THAT is the sign of a proper relationship. Not one where you have to convince yourself that the other person is great because you know if you see that person the way they truly are, you'll be out of the door before they can say "Call me."

Kutless
"She wants to fly away from this
Fly away from this
But she does not know how to
Fly away from this
She wants to fly..."
I couldn't have said it better myself.

Where'd all the good people go..
Okay, I've done the adverts I hate (I have more to add but I'll spare you!) so here are some that I like:
- The Pot Noodle one with Since You've Been Gone....hilarious!!!
- The Guiness one with the evolution of man
I'm sure there were others but I can't remember them off hand...I need a better memory...

Follow up from last post...
Okay, I wasn't feeling at my best that day.
However...whereas sometimes I do feel panicky, the majority of the time I feel absolutely fine about walking home (yet, still not totally safe...if that makes sense).
In fact, I almost walked through the park last night...though I stopped when I rememberd I promised Stef that I wouldn't do that anymore.

I'm a erm...me....get me out of here!!
Today...Alex gave everyone in the office but me a Christmas card. Charming!!
This week I am realising that the more I spent time with the people at work, the less I think of them. Alex is a prime example of that...on Wednesday (I think) she was bitching about S (I wont say her full name) but a few minutes later she was talking to S and acting as if they were best friends or something. I HATE false, two faced people like that. Grrrr!! Anyway, as she didn't even get me a card I'm guessing the niceness she showed was also fake!
To quote TFK she is "so fake, yet so friendly". Stupid woman!
It's not just her though...we have the snobs, the VERY immature people, the plain nasty people (quoted as saying she doesn't believe in saying please or thank you) etc etc.
I sincerely hope Anthony and Adrian aren't proud of thier company because from where I'm standing there is nothing to be proud of.

"Is mayonnaise an instrument?"
Why do women always complain about how old they are??
The women at work (well, one of them) always acts like she's 98 or something...she's in her 50's!!
I say women, though I have heard men do the same, it just seems like more women do it then men. Though to be fair, I've never worked in an office full of men so it could just be the ratio!

"We could close our eyes, it's still there..."
I don't feel safe walking home in the dark. I know it's stupid but...I can't help it. I'm okay most of the time but then I have "episodes" where I'll just be majorly paranoid. I'll hear a footstep behind me and get all panicky. I know what it stems from- when I was 15 (or thereabouts) I was stalked for approx 3 months. That was 4 years ago though...........cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese dragging the effects out or what???
I was actually okay tonight though (sorry, random I know, but this has just been on my mind quite a lot recently). There weren't many people around.
It doesn't help that pretty much every other article in the local papers are about people being attacked or mugged or girls being raped etc. Crapville isn't a particularly safe place. And I guess I'm a pretty easy target.
Girl walking alone in the dark. Asking for trouble, perhaps??
I guess the whole world isn't as safe as it once was though, and there's no point dwelling on what could happen. I don't normally care anyway, if something's going to happen, it will happen...there's nothing I can do to stop it (Stef hates it when I say that!).
Okay, vent over. Now I can go back to not caring!
