"Who are you, babe? This is my apartment, babe."

As I was coming back to work after lunch, some random, weird guy said "Hi baby" to me. Now, please explain, is that meant to be attractive? Am I then meant to fall at his feet and ask him where he's been all my life?? No good has ever come from calling a woman 'baby'. The only people it would appeal too, I'd imagine, are townies and hip hop wannabies, of which I am definitely neither.
Or maybe... I know I look young for my age but that's ridiculous!!
